???? The CEDAW is the United Nations’ most important women’s human rights treaty. It’s legally binding for countries that ratified it. . Discover how its implementation works!
✅ The CEDAW Committee, composed of 23 independent experts, meets several times a year to review ratifying countries’ reports and make recommendations to the countries (“State parties”). The Committee receives complaints from individuals and groups about rights violations. Sometimes, they can even investigate serious or systemic abuses.
